Fast & Fun Facts:
• John Wes Townley and RAB Racing plan to make their career first start at Homestead-Miami Speedway in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Ford 300.
• Dylan Presnell of Sevierville, Tenn. drove the No. 09 Zaxby’s Late Model Ford to a 10th-place finish in Sunday’s World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga.

The End of an Era: The race this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be John Wes Townley’s last race behind the wheel of the No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford Fusion with RAB Racing. The relationship between the duo began in 2008 when Townley joined the ARCA RE/MAX Series and RAB Racing. In just his first season, Townley amassed one top-five, nine top-10 and 16 top-15 finishes and on the strength of the 18-year-old’s efforts, the team finished seventh in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series point standings. Along with running a full schedule in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Townley and RAB Racing also competed in three NASCAR Nationwide Series races in preparation for a full schedule in NASCAR’s second-tier division in 2009.

The 2009 season marked Townley and RAB Racing’s rookie season in the series and collectively they are sitting 32nd in the owner point standings and Townley is 23rd in the driver point standings and 7th in the Raybestos Rookie of the year battle.

After Homestead, Townley will move on to Richard Childress Racing and RAB Racing will continue to look for sponsorship to run a full NNS schedule in 2010.

Season Review: After 34 of the 35 scheduled events on the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, John Wes Townley has 25 starts including one top-10 and five top-15’s. The Watkinsville, GA native also has six top-20 and 11 top-25 finishes.
