RAB RACING SIGNS BRANDON SWEET TO THEIR DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Concord, NC (2-14-2010) – RAB Racing with Brack Maggard has signed Brandon Sweet of Freeman Racing Enterprises as a development driver to compete full time and run for rookie of the year in the 2010 USAR Pro Cup Series.

RAB Racing with Brack Maggard in conjunction with Freeman Racing Enterprises will field the No. 99 Clarence Henry Coach Ford in the 16-race USAR Pro Cup Series schedule. The season begins on Saturday, March 27th at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA and concludes on Saturday, November 6th at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA.

“The objective of our driver development program is to enhance and strengthen the skills needed to compete in the top levels of racing,” said Robby Benton, RAB Racing’s Co-owner/General Manager. “Brandon has been successful in Karts and Modified’s so I feel a year behind the wheel of a USAR Pro Cup car will give him the start he needs to develop his skills to their fullest potential.”

Sweet, a 19-year-old Copenhagen, NY native started racing in the Go Kart Division at the age of nine and over a six year stint captured 48 wins and six championships. At 15, Sweet advanced to the North East DIRT Sportsman Modified Series where he proclaimed the 2006 Rookie of the Year title, nine wins and two championships.

The Freeman Racing Enterprises team will be led by RAB Racing’s, Keith Hinkein. Hinkein, the Director of Competition for FRE has worked with a multitude of drivers and brings an impressive resume and experience with him to the family-run organization. As a veteran crew chief of the USAR
Pro Cup Series, Hinkein has shown drivers such as Trevor Bayne and Joey Logano how to find victory lane.
